Membership in the Society of Broadcast Engineers is handled by our national office in Indianapolis. We encourage all media engineers, including those interested in starting their broadcast engineering career, to consider becoming members. No prior experience is necessary, just a desire to be in broadcast engineering.
SBE members who wish to transfer from other chapters to Chapter 37 should contact the national membership office. It’s a relatively simple process. After doing so, you’ll have the option to be added to our mailing list for news and information about upcoming meetings.
The SBE TPTP Technical Professional Training Program is a great way to learn the skills needed to be a broadcast engineer. The program was created to fill the gap between seasoned broadcast engineers and newcomers in to the field.
The Society of Broadcast Engineers instituted a Mentor Program to help fledgling engineers in their quest to learn the trade. Seasoned radio and television broadcast engineers volunteer their time to answer questions and solve problems at no cost to the mentee.
The Member Plus program in the SBE is a great way to learn new skills. It is just another service that the Society of Broadcast Engineers has to offer.
Once a member is certified through examination, he or she is eligible to use the SBE Certified logo on websites and business cards etc.
