Our annual holiday bash was another great success!  It was organized by SMPTE Washington DC Section, along with assistance from SBE Chapter 37, the AES DC Section, and the many generous sponsors listed below.  We enjoyed an evening of great food and drink but what made the event truly special was the comradery and engaging conversation with our industry colleagues.

This year's gala was held at Corduroy, 1122 9th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001 (just across 9th Street from the DC Convention Center), on the first day of the Governemt Video Expo.  Dinner was provided by our genereous event sponsors, which we wish to thank:

SBE:

The Society of Broadcast Engineers is the professional organization of television and radio engineers and those in related fields. The SBE has more than 5,000 members in 115 chapters across the United States and in Hong Kong. There are also members in more than 30 other countries. Most chapters meet monthly and offer educational programs and an opportunity to network with other broadcast technical professionals. SBE offers the preeminent technical broadcast certification program in the U.S. and an expansive list of educational programs for broadcast engineers, operators, technicians, and broadcast IT professionals.

AES:

The Audio Engineering Society is the only professional society devoted exclusively to audio technology. Founded in the United States in 1948, the AES has grown to become an international organization that unites audio engineers, creative artists, scientists and students worldwide by promoting advances in audio and disseminating new knowledge and research.

Currently, over 12,000 members are affiliated with more than 75 AES professional sections and more than 95 AES student sections around the world. Section activities may include guest speakers, technical tours, demonstrations and social functions. Through local AES section events, members experience valuable opportunities for professional networking and personal growth.
