As you may have seen on Kirk Harnack's TWiRT podcast recently, iHeart and other station groups are replacing their RF STLs and legacy WAN technologies with Software Defined-WAN. There are dozens of SD-WAN vendors in the marketplace and it takes an expert to navigate the landscape.
Dan Merwin, CBNE, based in Denver, is a lifelong telecom veteran. In 2023, he started his own company, Broadcast Telecom, which is an agency that represents hundreds of telecom and IT solution providers. He also works part-time as a contract broadcast field engineer, primarily for EMF.
Dan will talk about:
1. How much does it cost?
2. What does the term SD-WAN mean and what were the circumstances that drove its rapid and widespread development and adoption? (One reason is the ever-improving reliability, performance, availability, and cost of internet access)
